Goal Steps
It is not enough to take steps which may someday lead to a goal; each step must be itself a goal and a step likewise. - Goethe
Good morning! Today’s quote provides insight for pursuing the lives we desire and for helping us to realize our resolutions.
Most changes or goals require a lengthy investment in both dedication and time. To last for the long run, each step forward must be a goal in and of itself. Each step is an accomplishment, deserving the same celebration as a reached goal.
With each step we gain self-respect, determination and confidence. We are now ten days into the New Year. What steps have you taken so far? Instead of looking at the steps yet to be taken, celebrate your accomplishments to date. If you have yet to take a step forward, then take a step today—and then celebrate this step! Change begins whenever you choose to let it do so.
Your Turn:
If you have made progress in your goals, take time today to celebrate and recognize your accomplishment, or to journal about your progress. Reward yourself with a new book, long bath, new CD, or enjoyable coffee at a local café. If you have yet to take a step, why not take one today? Then, reward yourself for beginning the journey.
Today’s Affirmation:
Every positive step I take feeds my confidence and determination. My motto: I can and I do.
